The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

by Toni Kemp

The Good: Last night the Hubs made R-E-S-E-R-V-A-T-I-O-N-S for dinner! I don’t think he has ever made those before. We took the boys with us- we needed some family time and dinner was fabulous! The boys behaved and I got flowers!

The Bad: After being home for about an hour, my internet cable went down for the third f*cking time this week. I pay my bill on time- this is getting ridiculous!

The Ugly: Happening today. Going to visit my cable peeps. But instead of taking my well behaved 5 yo, I am going to ‘borrow’ a couple of neighborhood kids, take them for milkshakes, then trot them in the cable place. They are so gonna fix the problem TODAY! and they are going to compensate me for my inconvenience. They can credit my bill or give me HBO for free for a month, but they are doing something. I’m sure they will solve the problem expediently since I will have several 4 and 5 year olds running around the place hopped up on sugar! I have all day to spend there. Wish me luck!

That is too funny, and what a wonderful idea - good luck!

  3. Dana Says:

Oooh, bringing out the big guns, huh?

Glad you got flowers. I didn’t even get any after going under the knife and having my nipples completely taken off!

  4. Joan Says:

Once you’re done straightening out those cable folk (and I’m sure you will), could you come over with those “helpers” of yours and deal with my scuzzy cable company who keeps taking away cable TV channels hoping they’ll force us to convert to their new digital service? Please…

  5. No Cool Story Says:

They messed with the wrong blogger.
After that visit I bet they’ll upgrade you…anything to make you happy and out of their place.
    Good luck!

  6. Gina Says:

Do you have Time Warner by any chance? We were down for THREE weeks one time at our old house. Oh we got all sorts of freebies for that one. I fussed, whined and complained when we had to switch to Adelphia at our current house. The company was bankrupt and I was just certain it was going to be hellish. We never once had an outage. Never. Time Warner bought ‘em and I swear its down more than its up.

  7. Lisa (qtpies7) Says:

Oh my gosh! Can you bring them to my mortgage company!?!?
They decided to NOT accept my payment this month until I pay $9000 because we bounced a check LAST YEAR!!!!!!!! Seriously!!!!! And they fail to see why that boggles the mind!

They did finally get it figured out and got their heads out of their rears, but I was TICKED! I went all ninja on the supervisor.

Oh, and could you stop by my internet co too? We pay $100 a month for the highest speed you can get, and it keeps going out! Umm, hello, what do I pay you for? I got better service with the slow internet.

  8. Sparky Duck Says:

well heck yea they should do something, if the cable goes out for longer then 4 hrs you should get credit

  9. Becky Says:

hahahah ohhh that would so be one to see..please oh please take pics..

  10. Homemom3 Says:

Let us know how it goes, I think we’ll all join in on this. Mine went out twice yesterday, TWICE.

  11. Shauna Says:

    Sounds like a nice date.
And you’ve got to tell us every details of the cable joint jaunt!

  12. moodswingingmommy Says:

I love your strategy, and may just try that one day! You got chutzpah, girl!

Good for your boys for knowing when to behave. It sounds like you had a nice dinner. Love getting flowers!

  13. Daisy Says:

Great idea! I like your tactics. I might try that myself next time I’m desperate for service!

  14. Jennifer B. Says:

Can’t wait to hear how it went. Good luck!

  15. Nael C. Robes Says:

I think your idea will work. We always get served really fast in restaurants with Manther is with us.

  16. elasticwaistbandlady Says:

Road Runner pulled this B.S. on us all last summer. Even my very patient Papi had to threaten to give them the smackdown if they didn’t credit us for the inconvenience.

You can borrow my hyper super spaz 5 year old to take with you. We just live down south from y’alls.

  17. toni Says:

BA HAHAHAHAHAHA! And after you finish wiping the floor with them, head on over to the festival for some good eats.
