40 Before 40
The Green Three is hosting a 40 before 40 today. When I think into the far, far, far away future, I realize on my 40th birthday (March 2013), I will have a *gasp* 19 year old and an 11 year old!
1. Go away for a weekend with just the hubby
2. Buy our very own house and stop moving.
3. Make a quilt for David to take to college
4. Go skydiving- yes, jump out a perfectly good airplane!
5. Go up in a hot air balloon
6. See an end to this war
7. Have the hubby home for at least 12 continuous months
8. Go on a cruise with the hubby.
9. Read all the books I have bought and haven’t gotten around to yet.
10. Go a whole day without calling my boys any other name but their own.
11. Spend an entire day at a spa with my closest girlfriends.
12. Have a really good family picture done- where everyone is happy!
13. Learn to play the piano (I am NOT musically inclined!)
14. Ride an elephant
15. Win the lottery
16. Tell my children everyday I love them and that I am proud of them
17. Spend an entire week with just my sisters, and get along!
18. For Luke to finally STOP sucking his thumb!
19. Take the boys to
20. Learn how to take a compliment.
21. Learn to say no, instead of being sucked into commitments.
22. Get it on to “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye
23. Have my palm read
24. Teach my children to be thankful for what they have.
25. Start doing a Christmas letter every year.
26. Eat at a five star restaurant, but not have to pay!
27. Have neighbors I like
28. Not be a grandma.
29. Learn to love exercising.
30. Be on a jury!
31. Learn to love my weed eater.
32. To learn html!
33. Go to
34. Go to
35. See David graduate high school
36. Stop being so sarcastic. (yeah- never gonna happen!)
37. Achieve this list, at least some of it!
38. Blah, blah, blah (filler)
39. Be completely happy with who I am, not just content and settle, but happy with the person that I am.
40. Never stop dreaming!

Good luck on getting Luke to STOP his thumb sucking. I had two thumb suckers and that has to be one of the hardest things I ever did…

love your list. I was going to do it but I am 41 and the thought of turning 50 really freaked me out…I’ll just take your list. It will keep me young…hehe

I thought that the advantage to being in the AF and moving so often was that if you didn’t like your neighbors you knew either you or they would be moving soon.
