With October being domestic abuse awareness month, I thought I would explore the domestic abuse problem within the military community. Domestic violence is prevalent in the military family, but since it is dealt with internally, the statistics aren’t widely known.

Many blogs here at 451Press will be discussing this topic, in hopes to raise awareness, and I will provide links as the individual posts are published.

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

I am constantly struggling to come up with new, yet inexpensive, dinners for my family. I know that I am not alone in this battle, so I have decided to share a “tried & true” recipe every Tuesday. If you have any recipes, please let me know in the comments!

Smiling Faces and Helpful Places

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Many military spouses know that they have a “key spouse” to contact when their husband is deployed for any questions or problems. But there is also many other places to find help online, express your opinion, help others, or just have a place to ‘connect’ with others in the same situation.

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

I found this the other day. While I don’t agree with the author 100%, I do understand.

Letter to U.S. service member says what most of us are thinking …
The introduction to this letter says it was written by an interior designer and home planner from Atlanta. She was apparently writing to a relative serving in Iraq. Enjoy.

About Being An Air Force Wife

Being An Air Force Wife is a about simply, being a military wife in todays world. Military wives take the 'unwritten' oath, to keep the home fires burning. When our troops are in the battle field, it's not always easy, it can be hair pulling at times, but this proud AF wife tries to find the humor in every situation.
